Flexible income, on your own schedule — what I’ve actually learned driving for Lyft
I drive for Lyft, mainly mornings and evenings, which frees up my midday hours for everything else I’m building — this channel, this site, my own health and money goals. If you’re looking for a way to earn on your own schedule, this is one real option, and I’m documenting the actual experience of doing it — not just the highlight reel.
Why rideshare driving, for the right person:
- You control your own hours — early morning, late night, weekends only, whatever fits your life.
- No boss, no schedule requests, no asking for time off.
- It can be a bridge — extra income while you build something else (a business, a channel, a skill), not necessarily a forever job.
It’s not for everyone. It takes a reliable vehicle (or access to a rental), consistent gas/maintenance costs, and the self-discipline to actually log the hours without a manager checking in. I’ll be honest about both sides of it here, not just the upside.

If you want to give it a try, you can sign up using my referral link below. Full transparency: if you sign up and complete your first rides, I earn a referral bonus from Lyft — that’s disclosed here and in every video where I mention it.

Tips & Tricks (updated as I learn them)
This section will grow as I put out new videos — real numbers, real screenshots, real mistakes:
- Earnings snapshots — daily and weekly totals from my own dashboard, so you can see real patterns without needing to guess.
- What I’ve learned about timing — which hours and days tend to be worth driving vs. not.
- Common new-driver mistakes — the stuff that costs time or money early on that’s avoidable once you know it.
First video: coming soon — check back here or follow on [YouTube] to catch it as soon as it’s up.
This page will keep growing as I document more of the day-to-day.
