The 1-2-3 System: Wealth

Rebuilding your finances, one phase at a time

Phase 1: Clear the Path

Before adding anything new, stop the leaks.

  • Stop the senseless spending — the purchases you make without thinking, that quietly drain your ability to save.
  • Build a simple budget using 3 accounts:
    1. Bills Account — house/rent, car, insurance, utilities, subscriptions. Funded first, every payday, with a small buffer on top so nothing bounces.
    2. Savings Account — your future. Small and consistent beats big and irregular.
    3. Spending Account — groceries, occasional eating out, gas, entertainment. Kept separate so it can’t quietly eat into bills or savings.
  • One thing at a time: set up the budget first, hold it for a week, then add the next habit (like a daily savings amount).

Phase 2: Level Up

Once the budget is running on autopilot, it’s time to build wealth instead of just protecting it.

  • Start investing what you’ve been saving.
  • Begin building toward retirement, not just a short-term cushion.

Phase 3: Maintain & Multiply

  • Maintain the habits — the budget and investing routine become permanent, not a phase with an end date.
  • Focus on retirement, letting the wealth habits keep compounding over time.
  • Once you’ve lived through it, help someone else build their own version of this system.
